Operations Staff

The Operations Department is responsible for the following:  Maintenance,
Transportation, School Safety, Custodial Services, Food Services, and Athletics.  Our department maintains the heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, plumbing, electrical and structural of all our facilities.  Our staff also maintains all the grounds of our schools as well as the athletic facility.

Operations oversees the custodians at each school and the district office.  We are responsible for stocking most of the chemicals and supplies that are used at each school.   The schools requisition the supplies they need and our office delivers them.

Crisis Management

Operations oversees the crisis management implementation for the district.  We work closely with law enforcement, emergency management and the Red Cross to make sure we are prepared as possible for any emergency that may arise in the district.  Lee County School District takes a proactive approach to claims prevention and risk management by participating in the PARR ( Premium and Risk Reduction) Program.  Our participation in the PARR Program qualifies the district for a 5% credit on the Workers’ Compensation premium.  Our participation not only helps the district save money, but it also increases safety awareness and reduces injuries.

Lee County School District made the South Carolina School Boards Insurance Trust’s Risk Management Honor Roll for 2013.

Energy and Water Conservation

Operations heads up the energy and water conservation efforts of the district.  Since 2008, our goal has been to reduce our energy consumption by 20% by 2020.  We monitor the district’s energy consumption on a monthly basis as well as analyze our yearly consumption on an annual energy report that is sent to the Energy Department.  At this time, we are on target to meet our goal.

Safety Committee

Lee County School District has an effective Safety Committee which helps to eliminate unsafe behavior at all levels throughout the district by striving to create an accident-free workplace.  With accident prevention as the main objective, everyone can see the benefits of the committee.
